We have been using Moore's Reminders for Math cards in our
classrooms and we highly recommend them to other schools and
districts. Our students use the cards every day and we find that they
have had a very positive effect on their math skills. Now, instead of
constantly raising their hands to ask a teacher how to add fractions,
multiply decimals, etc, they now have the responsibility of looking it up
themselves. This has made them more independent learners and has
resulted in more actual teaching time for the teachers. We also find that
the students are beginning to remember the skills themselves because
they are more actively involved in the process.
The math cards are excellent for all math classes, but we find them most
helpful in our Algebra 1 classes because so many students have
forgotten critical Algebra Readiness skills. The students love using the
cards. It’s almost like having a teacher available all the time for them as
they need help.
Also, the students just recently took their math Texas Assessment of
Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) test. We can hardly wait to get their
results. I am confident that the use of the Moore's Reminders for Math
cards this year helped to prepare them to do well.
We highly recommend this wonderful product to other schools. It has
benefited our students and we know it would do the same everywhere!

This year my students used Moore's Reminders for Math for
approximately 4 weeks before TCAP. They used these reminders during
TCAP blitz. I had my whole class write about how they liked the cards,
would they make any changes and how often they used the cards. Most
students said they used the cards 2-3 times per week. The cards were
useful in areas such as geometry, multiplication chart and place value
chart, operations with fractions, and long division. As a teacher having a
Math tool that acts as a dictionary does in Reading/Language Arts, it
really has a positive affect when the students get stuck on a problem.
The students were able to use the reminders whenever they needed
them. There were no restrictions put on this tool. All the students loved
them. The level of the skills in the book could range into middle and
high school. There were cards that my students didn’t need and
probably would never look at until middle or high school. But it is
interesting that the higher skills are in the reminders so the students can
get a snapshot of what is in their future for Math. The fact that Moore's
Reminders for Math offers workbook pages to go along with their work is
great, this was a resource used very little by me because of the TCAP
blitz time. If these cards are used from day one, the workbook pages
would be a great intervention and individualized instructional tool.
Thank you,

The Moore's Reminders for Math really helped me out. It is a really good
reminder. It helps me do my math and helps my grades get higher. I
like the reminders because they help me feel like I am ready for 6th
grade math.
The Moore's Reminders for Math are incredible! I think they helped me
make better grades. I got a B on my test because I was able to look
back at the cards and remind myself what to do. I used the reminders
almost everyday.
I think Moore's Reminders for Math were hard to use at first but I got it
eventually. The thing that made it easier was the colored dividers. I
used the cards everyday in Math.
Moore's Reminders for Math helped me with TCAP preparation and other
schools should use them.

I just wanted to express my family’s gratitude of Thanks! Dorian not only
was taking Algebra II, I had no idea he was also taking Geometry too this
year! As I told you before in February, 1st and 2nd semesters he brought
home F’. That’s when the spirit led me to your article in the Commercial
Appeal 02/01/07… In Geometry with no assistance he passed with a
“B”. Algebra II he failed last year and had to repeat it this year. Your
cards helped him pass with a high “C”… Although being in class with a
teacher an hour a day and being enrolled for extra help in the after
school program for 30 minutes, he still couldn’t grasp the concept until
he received those cards… (Read full letter)

Math was never my best subject. I always considered myself more of an
English/Literature student. So, when it came to take the ACT I knew I
needed extra help. The first time I took the ACT, I did not use the cards
and my math score was very low. The second time, I used the cards and
my math score went up 4 points! After college, I had to take the GRE to
get into graduate school. Using the math cards, I scored higher on the
math section than the verbal section. That was a first! I am so thankful
for Ms. Moore’s cards. They really made learning math easier for me!

The East High Foundation uses the "Reminders for Math" cards to tutor
over 100 students, daily. The cards are used by our tutors, honor
students, who help their fellow students. The cards are readable,
understandable, concise and complete. The cards help the students
review the math principles in a non-formidable format. The cards give
the students the confidence to practice! Many of the students in our
program are not strong readers & the cards are a tool they can use. The
cards provide a focus for what is relevant and requires repetition to lead
to the solid understanding of math principles.

I am trying to test out of an algebra class in college and needed help. I
received Moore’s Reminders for Math and I LOVE THEM! They speak my
language and help me remember! Thank you! They really help; they are
awesome!

We were fortunate enough to acquire one of the first sets of Moore’s
Reminders for Math when they were being tested for use with middle
school students. As a middle school teacher, I can enthusiastically
recommend this tool for use in the classroom and at home. My two
sons relied on the cards to refresh math concepts even in high school.
The cards allow parents, teachers and students to refer to specific
concepts easily and provide clear examples to follow. Thank you Ms.
Moore!

I am a masonry contractor. Moore’s Reminders for Math have helped
me many times when estimating plans. When I have needed to
calculate areas such as a radius or a triangle, I could simply look to
Moore’s Reminders for Math to get the formula. It has been very helpful
to me and everyone in my office.

Ms. Moore’s Reminders for Math are one of the most helpful and useful
math aids I have ever used. Whenever I could not remember how to do
a math problem, I would always refer to the cards. Math seems to be
easier because I need help and there was no teacher around I knew. I
could find it with Moore’s Reminders for Math.

I have a large contracting business in North Carolina and had limited
schooling (really I quit). When I found out about Moore’s Reminders for
Math I tried them. It was unbelievable. They helped me get my GED and
to where I am today. My company does $8,000,000.00 a year at this
time. These cards changed my life and out of the 120 employees I have,
22 of them are now using the cards to help their children AND
themselves. I just can’t thank them enough.

Ms. Moore’s Reminders for Math have been very helpful to my students
who struggle to recall all the steps necessary to complete various
problems. Aside from the easy to follow directives, use of these steps
builds confidence in tackling these stumbling blocks so that successful
learning is reinforced.

I have been a math special education teacher for 30 years. The students
I teach very often have difficulty remembering how to work even the most
basic problems. With the color coded cards, they can easily look up the
explanation for that specific type of problem and use the examples that
will help them through their class work. Parents find that the cards are
easy to follow and a useful aid in reinforcing the skills their child needs
to complete homework assignments. The students’ confidence grows
and they become more independent as they figure out their own math
problems with these quick reminders.
